The workshop “From Funk to Afro - Afrontasia” is an immersive experience that investigates the connections between Afro-indigenous traditions and contemporary urban expressions through dance. The proposal is based on an analysis of the cultural and physical intersections that connect rhythms such as Rio funk, samba de roda, samba de coco, carimbó, Bahian pagode, and the symbolism of the orixás. More than just a physical practice, the workshop is a space for empowerment, decolonization of the body, and ancestral recovery. By revisiting the history of rebolado as a symbol of resistance, health, and freedom, the activity promotes reflection on how Brazilian popular culture, often stigmatized, is in fact a powerful tool for expression, care, and autonomy for black women and marginalized bodies.
